First moves, U23 Restructure & mistakes as a Rookie

Hibee: Back in January, it’s been ten months since you started.

Yes, I love math and that’s why I am involved in Sorare. Since I started, I made an x4-x5 so yes, I keep on looking into this beautiful game.

YNWA: I hope we will benefit from a booming Q4 and a crypto rally. I think all we can hope for is that the Sorare announcements will bring new users and that we will see massive spikes in February & March.

Hibee: Yeah, we see new users joining thanks to SorareData and we will see the interest growing.

YNWA: I am interested in the number of followers of Liverpool and we quickly jumped from 15k to 150k followers.

I did not have money when I started so my team was average in the beginning. I was busy initially so I sold up some players 2 weeks after. Then I changed my strategy to have one elite team as well as a Challenger one. Unless you have elite players available to play every week, the Champion Division is not relevant.

Hibee: That’s exactly what I was doing and why I have a lot of Anderlecht Rookies. Where did you concentrate? On ETH thresholds or U23?

I focused on U23. Because Sorare is a changing game, I do not want to make too many moves. I instead want to build a balance between the actual transfers and the Sorare announcements to benefit as much as possible from both.

YNWA: I played the waiting game for 2 years with Diogo Costa & Maximiano, for example. When they start, it brings value and the sales are great opportunities. Patience is always rewarded. It allows also you to get an edge over an injury when your youngster is playing during the recovery of his teammate.

When the first season of a Rookie starts, the prices generally explode.

YNWA: It looks like Common GKs will soon be excluded from AS D4. How did the Limited cards impact your choices?

I made the decision to go for “backup” GKs like Safonov when I started and Stefan Bajic. I have hope that my young GKs will be starters next season.

YNWA: Exciting times; it is really lovely to see that 7-8 months flew quickly and that you made significant decisions.

My strategy is to look for really young U23 players.

Moments & Bundesliga

My gallery at the moment is pretty strong; if I want to make a move onto Bundesliga, it has to be on big players. I become very attached to my players.

YNWA: It is hard to sell first to buy after. Each time a new League or club is coming; it is hard to know which chances the players from these Leagues or clubs bring to us in order to win more prizes.

I am trying to be patient and stick to my strategy and avoid the Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO).

Hibee: The auction Volume when the Bundesliga landed was just under 400ETH (397.8 on the 3rd of October).

YNWA: I love your gallery SorareRookie, and I hope you will resist the Bundesliga players. Sorare wants to be all-inclusive. We can debate on Moments, and Top-Shot, for example, has thousands of moments. Do you think that it has to be a Special Collection of Cards when “Special” events are happening during a season?

Hibee: Yes, I think so. Managers can change, for example, the “back” of the cards in order for Sorare to become as interactive as possible. We saw the two most significant Leagues onboarded, so the rest will follow.

YNWA: There are a lot of speculations we can do regarding “Moments”. One thing that is sure is that the video linked to the announcement of the Bundesliga gives the direction, which will be interesting to follow in the coming weeks. And maybe these cards will become the norm. It also adds collectability aspects because if you own Haaland, for example, you can also see on the back of this card all the moments of these fantastic players, which could be a way to match supply & demand.

These “Moments” cards need to highlight the top moments. I see these kinds of cards becoming the standard. BTW, speaking about new clubs, I have done some research regarding Corinthians U20s yesterday.
