Interview of Robin alias Blomme (SorareBelgium)
Robin, alias Blomme on Sorare, is the founder of the Twitter account: @BelgiumSorare.
We wanted to interview him because we like his content so much.
Introduction
Before I started Sorare, I worked in a restaurant, like now. One day, the covid came, and because of that, everything closed. I discovered Sorare thanks to a rumor about Fashion Sakala, moving from Ostende to Rangers because I saw the hashtag Sorare behind this rumor. I asked the guy that published the tweet to explain to me what Sorare was. He explained me, and I decided to jump into it.
I started Sorare in Jan 2021. My main goal was to stay with Belgium League because I have more information about it. I like buying cheap players from 2nd division because they are not available for scoring. I try to find and buy them until their scoring is counting in SO5.
I decided to create a Twitter account during the Winter of 2020, and I found that no one specialized in the Belgium League.
Yup_4: tweeted about Fashion Sakala. He also gave me 3 cards: Klaussen (Ostende).
When I started, I found Rare cards expensive. It was my first time experiencing crypto.
I started playing them in the Common League (Rookie League).
When I started, I traded 400 euros for ETH I bought on Blockchain.com. I still remember buying players from YNWA & PawelTrader because many people recommended I buy from them.
I am not afraid to sell for a loss, I did it with Okedeke (Brugge), who did not play at the time, and now he can play sometimes.
I wanted to win prizes, but my philosophy was always, "I will play for fun, and I will see".
Because the Champions League players are too expensive for me, I decided to buy only Jupiler League.
I tweet when I can; that is why all the content is free even though I often publish critical information before the deadlines. A lot of changes can happen because, for example, in Belgium, when a player gets a red during the previous match, then the player has to go to the referring department as fast as possible. Let’s take an example: a player received a red card on Saturday. If his team is playing again on Wednesday – if the referring department is not on time concerning the decision, then there is a high probability that this player can play on Wednesday.
The structure of the Twitter account is the following as you can find information about:
- Rumors
- Injuries
- Suspensions
When I started my account, there were few accounts specialized for one country. I remember following SorareJapan & SorareUSA.
Best market trade
His strategy for next season
I invested a lot in players for next season. I bought players from Westerlo (that just got promoted). I strongly believe in Sibben (I own 8 cards of him). I bought all these cards because I think I can make a profit.
I want to play mainly Challenger & All-Star Rare and then, from January 2023 I want to start to compete in Rare Pro.
I think that all the leagues not covered yet can eventually all join. I hope the Belgium Second League will be announced soon. I'm looking for second divisions and other countries. The Netherlands can also be good to get the youngsters from Ajax, for example.
I watch the Belgium 2nd division because of Sorare to find the gems that will be in the first division at some point in the future. The points of these players don't count at the moment, but I wait the time when they will get minutes in the 1st Belgium division.
My worst mistake was to want to buy the player named Vinicius Souza, the Super Rare. I hesitated too much and did not take this risk.
New clubs and new leagues are good because many people discover Sorare thanks to these additions. For baseball, I think it will have a little impact that won't be so big regarding football. A lot of American people will join, and as they don't like football, they won't play with football cards.
I think that if people make the flip from Rare to Limited before the World Cup, it's a mistake because football is the biggest sport, and the World Cup will bring new players.
I think there are a lot of improvements to come: of course, new managers and new leagues. For the next five years, because of the World Cups and other events, we will see so many new managers and more impact on the Champions League.
In the long term, I see Sorare doing great. When crypto will be more introduced, I think sorare will be more introduced as well.
I do 100% into Sorare. Maybe sometimes 5% in crypto. I think Sorare is less subject to volatility, and I think that you can win a lot in crypto, but you can lose a lot as well. The risk/reward ratio is much more balanced on Sorare than in the crypto market.
When I started, I tried to get the All-Star thresholds. I went for U23 but did not get paid. I started buying injured players and loaned players. Now I'm waiting for 2nd division players. I think that at the moment, 2nd division players are paying out the most as speculating transfers. From my experience, injured players make you wait long, but you are guaranteed to make a profit over time.
