Sorare or not?
I've been playing Football Manager for years. I started streams a couple of years, and I'm now an official Twitch Partner. I create fantasy and normal football content.
Sorare may not be suited for me, so I decided not to jump in. I think that if I joined, I would give up after two or three game weeks.
Hibee: I'm actually the same and can try some games to finally give up quickly. Aligning my teams regularly is not something I want to do, but Sorare was a challenge because I asked myself: will I lose interest over time? The answer is that it does not lose interest at all. It is evolving; it is still early, but it is still exciting. Since I've been on the platform, I have seen so many evolutions, such as the players that are available, the new clubs, the new leagues, and also the development of third parties platforms. That leads me to think that there is still something to keep myself, my excitement, and that's why I don't leave. The crypto element as well is quite exciting as it is a new space. By being in touch with the community, speaking to people, and recording this podcast. So there are many benefits I'm seeing from out there.
YNWA: If Sorare did not get your interest, but you were looking into the cryptosphere, may I ask what was your favorite crypto projects at that time when you discovered Sorare but decided not to jump in? Was it Ethereum, Bitcoin, or anything else?
I started with a mixture of Bitcoin and Ethereum.
In the gaming space, I think I just needed one thing to get involved, and I found Footium.
YNWA: I think there is a limit to Sorare because how much is enjoyable to watch someone do something on Sorare?
The everyday things for all successful games are an excellent product, a great team, and social engagement... People are realizing that Football Manager, you spent 50$, but you don't earn anything. That is changing with NFTs and new Fantasy Football Games.
YNWA: I think that the free-to-play model is a game before you buy. You cannot get everything for free in this world. There are gonna be limitations regarding the level of enjoyment because the options that are available to you are restricted. But I do think that if you have a free-to-play mechanism to onboard new people to your main game, building up this free-to-play game is a logical decision. Indeed, building up a free-to-play game requires a very different thought process than building up a paid version. Just because you have got a successful paid version does not mean that you will be able to stick to the prices and be successful in building your free version.
Hibee: Having a free-to-play element is also a critical component that Sorare has.
YNWA: Yeah, and there is one thing that we did not speak about is how much excitement we get to play with the IP of real players. Some people don't mind playing with fictional players and fictional teams, but others don't.
I think that because Sorare has signed licenses, the platform is beautiful.
The day there are more Scottish players on Sorare, I would probably jump on.
YNWA: The day the Scottish League will come on board, then the European Challenger Divison will change.
