1st round - 700k$ raised for SorareData

The best way to reach out is by email: contact@soraredata.com.

I am a big fan of emails. The best way is not Discord, not Twitter; it is email.

Thanks to everyone using the website regularly. Even people who received a hundred notifications of SorareData.

YNWA: It would be amazing for someone who listens and not using SorareData!

Yeah, one of the stats that is very interesting is that 80% of the people who have ten cards or more have a SorareData account. When you go to 50 cards or more, it is more than 90%. It tells the importance of SorareData in the game. Thanks for the feedback, and I will never forget the people. I want to reward these people.

YNWA: How the funds raised will change SorareData? Will you have more time to deliver more features? What can we expect?

Yes. One thing that I want to do is to give the possibility to everyone to buy shares of the company (a Security Token Offering), and that will be done by rewarding the people that are using the website as well as raising more money in that way. But France is a country where it would be way too complicated to proceed, so I reached out to Seedcamp, the fund that also led Sorare's 1st round. Seedcamp is leading the 1st round of SorareData. I am happy to have Sorare on board for this 1st round. It would help to have more interactions and features that interact with Sorare & SorareData simultaneously. I guess my priority right now is hiring people and working on the website's stability. Many people coming will need to see that the website is solid, does not wait too long for charging, has a great UI/UX & that we are working with new partners. The mission is to help Sorare users the most. If you have played Sorare for quite some time, SorareData is then OK to use, but when you just signed up on Sorare, and you go on SorareData, it is a bit complicated. We are also looking to write newsletters to alert people on what is going on.

Hibee: Some amazing things to come. I love that!

I was alone, so sorry to was not so active, especially in June.

YNWA: Are other crypto projects possibilities you are exploring when you were speaking about other NFTs?

I think CryptoSlam is doing a great job aggregating data from many projects, but it is not something I want to go in.

If I see an NFT platform or even a DFS platform that became incredibly popular in the coming years, then yes, building a companion as SorareData, why not!

I want to build the platform even further and hire some people. I am very excited about this new chapter and happy to be now full-time on SorareData. We are looking also for other NFTs platforms and DFS.

There are a lot of things in the pipeline. One of the things that the community wants is translation. Mainly French because it is well-known that French people do not speak well English.

We are looking to improve the market part as well as the SO5 help decision taker. But you know, projections are a difficult thing to do because it is impossible to project the exact scores of a player. The only thing we can do is base the projections on the previous scores. I know Rottowired is doing a good job of projecting lineups and we can maybe work on a partnership as a 3rd party. Anything that helps a manager to select his cards for the upcoming tournaments, we are interested. We will soon share some side games; on the SorareData Leagues today only 78 managers get rewards every season (6 GW); with the number of players playing these side games, we will work with Sorare to improve this side game. We will try to do something with Limited Cards and maybe do restricted competition with only Limited. I do not know what you guys think, but it is really difficult to decide: should I allow Limited Cards to play with Rares, SR et Unique cards?

My feeling right now is that I should do a Limited competition and build dedicated teams for each scarcity.

Hibee: I think during the last 2 weeks, 4k new managers bought at least 1 NFT card. I think it would be good to allow them to use Limited, but at the same time, I do not think it is good for other managers who possess higher scarcity.

YNWA: Do you think you can impact the prices of Limited Cards by implementing new competition on SorareData?

I guess that would be a mistake to build competition around Limited Cards because the current user base is focused on Rare, SR, and Unique. But the new wave will be focused on Limited Cards. I do not think I will be able to provide Tier 1 for everyone, but at the same time, I am thinking about creating competition for Limited Cards owners. There are other side games: SorareMega which is doing a good job & SorareAcademy. I am a bit surprised to not see more 3rd games built on Sorare. Because Sorare is sponsoring anyone who is building side games. I think it is a good idea to start one today. They are also building cross-platform NFT, which could introduce other sports, and maybe you can enter cross cards in the future, for example, Basketball & Football teams.

I guess that the game has a different dimension from SorareData, and the ambition of the website is to continue to bring a new experience and more tools for managers in order for them to have better manager progress. If anyone of you reading is playing Sorare with an engineering background, please shoot me an email to be in touch and discuss the future of SorareData.

YNWA: Your platform was built by you as well as every manager that registered. It is fantastic.

Hibee: After having used SorareData the community is receiving an incredible value from it, and I check my scores, for example, on it. You can see transfers and other stuff. Sorare won't be Sorare without SorareData.

Myself being a manager for quite some time and trying to develop the best tool for me as well as for everyone. A new kind of manager will appear, and it will be interesting to see how will they use the website. It's definitely an exciting period to live in. Sorare has announced that September will be the biggest month, so let's see what will happen.

YNWA: It will be interesting to see how the game will evolve with +150 teams on the platform.

Hibee: Let's speak about the rewards because I think it is one big thing that people want to see on SorareData as well as how players have performed because it is not possible on the native site. Is there any feature to share with us?

YNWA: Personally, I think that these cards can be seen as gambling, even if Sorare is not a gambling company. One of the challenges to creating side games is here because it is hard to build a no-gambling game.

I think that some new kinds of games will arrive sooner or later and that gambling will concern NFTs as well, but the regulators at the moment are far behind. For the moment, it is very risky for someone to do stuff that looks like gambling. My point is that Sorare is sponsoring anyone who is trying to build side games, and I think that is a great way to start. Maybe not full-time, maybe not in order to raise money, but I think it is a good idea to build your 11 + 4 subs. I do not find the time to create side games, but if I see openings in regulation and, of course, if I find ideas, I would be more than happy to create more side games.

YNWA: Anyone can benefit from more utility for the Sorare cards. I am sure the community has given back what you had given previously.

Yes, of course, is that without saying that without the support, I would not be able to come here today to speak about the future of SorareData. We are focusing on growing the game and growing the community. We all have the same interests. I will remember everyone who has funded SorareData but also, on the product side, all the people who have tested and provided feedback. I want to continue to help the community by providing more features they like and want.

Maybe a problem today is that: you have to go everywhere to build your lineups (SorareData, Sorare, SorareMega), etc. It is not possible for some people to do this every Friday morning. One thing I want to do is to provide a tool that allows people to build line-ups on all the platforms from SorareData.

Hibee: I would love that. It would be a lifesaver for me, and I think, for thousand of managers.

I guess that will come sometime soon. But it needs a requirement to have automated line-ups because it is a controversial feature. Some people will say that an automatic tool is not a great way to play the game. I understand that. Also, what I see is that people do not have the time. If they want to, they can. But they do not spend hours like we do to get info about their galleries. It can kill the game for some, but it will never replace Mark spending hours researching and composing the best line-ups. I personally want to propose automatic line-ups on SorareData.

So, two out of the many main features are:

  • Projected line-ups
  • Automated line-ups

Let's not get too excited because that would require much work, and I want to release perfect features.

Hibee: These tools will help so many managers; it is fantastic to see that. With your experience, you reduce the time needed to find information for new managers and get back from the community. Positive loop. It is exciting to look at the future and other possibilities.

New chapter

Hibee: I am sure you will share with the Sorare Community. They are people buying everything, and people gambling, so it's good to have someone trusted in the community to refer like you to get standardization in this field.

Yes, just to finish this, one thing is coming relatively soon. I have someone starting to work on a mobile app in September. SorareData is used 55% on desktop & 45% on mobile. Sorare is going mobile as well; it is essential to do this. I guess at the end of September or October will be released.

Hibee: Yes, I think many people, me included, would love to take a screenshot of the Sorare lineup to share it quickly on Twitter. Today, it is impossible to do that.

Yes, but technically it is difficult to have five cards in line with the scores readable. But I guess that it is one of the main frustration today of SorareData users concerning the SO5 results on mobile.

YNWA: With a mobile app, you also give the possibility of alerts (goals, assists...). In Sorare terms, any decisive action.

Exactly. That's the whole purpose in the long term. In the future, yes, we want to inform: "Oh, you are now in the lead," or "Someone has taken your lead," etc.

The thing is that speaking about the Sorare mobile app, I do not think that Apple or Google will let Sorare do auctions or bundles in the app because of their policies. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen on this side. Maybe you will only be able to buy cards on the Sorare desktop, but at least, in the future, you can reach SorareData easily to find the right cards for your gallery.

YNWA: It looks like the perfect balance. If there are some things Sorare will be prohibited. It would be perfect to have a companion app to do those things.

I think you will always buy cards on Sorare.

To be honest, I am not a fan of cards being auctioned anywhere except Sorare, but of course, it is interesting for Sorare to get more eyes on the cards and the platforms. I am more for marketplaces on other websites, but where cards are still only issued on Sorare because that is the thing that makes the more sense for me. Also, custom marketplaces on other websites are attractive. For example, one thing that is frustrating for me is that I cannot auction my cards on the secondary market.

Hibee: Can we finish with a question we asked all our guests? Lionel Messi has joined the PSG, and there will be Lionel Messi cards. What do you think about these cards? And to have Messi and Ronaldo on the platform?

I am one of the people who think that people are overestimating the price of Lionel Messi's Unique. I do not want to say a specific price, but I do not think that there is enough exposure on Sorare actually to have a very high number for the sale. I am very excited to see what Messi will do on Sorare and if Messi will beat the curves. The problem I have with Messi is that it will be too much expensive for me and that he will get too many 100s scores (laugh).

YNWA: I agree with Max regarding the exposure. But if someone is using the Lionel Messi Unique in Div 1, the utility is so crucial because this card will help him win incredible prizes.

Hibee: A lot of SR 1st Ronaldo have not been used often or not at all in the game. Having just one more Ronaldo SR in the hands of a manager able to use it effectively would have changed the game.

It is a super tricky question to answer. I am unsure about these players’ impact on the market & the competition. A lineup is five players; sometimes, Ronaldo has been lined up with players that "do not deserve to be lined up with Ronaldo". So, I have checked Ronaldo, and some have never been played, so you are right on that. I do not think that there is too much impact. But on Messi, I guess, that is pretty much the same thing. I guess Griezmann will buy the card of Messi at the last minute. I do not have any info on that.

YNWA: Mbappé will also be interesting to follow because the next card will be available in a bundle if he joins Real Madrid.

Yes, Mbappé Unique price; sorry for saying that, but it is "only" 54k€; I think it is not that expensive for a player like Mbappé. I'm more afraid for Rares & Limited because there will have fewer ranks without him getting paid than for D3 and above.
