Master The Basics - 5 Mistakes To Avoid
1/ Do not put unused players in Academy (training)
In this division, you can line up any cards you want regardless of their rarity (Common, Limited, Rare, Super Rare & Unique).
This league does not give you any reward, however, it allows you to make your cards gain experience and thus the % bonus!
So it’s very interesting to put your players in this league when you are not using them in the general competitions.
As a reminder: "A card with a bonus of 7.5% and gets a score of 80 in a game will then earn you 80 points + (0.075*80) = 80 + 6 = 86 total points."
As you have understood, it is interesting to have a high % on each of your cards in order to optimize your score but also to be able to sell them for more money!

2/ Do not focus on a Goalkeeper as first card
The Goalkeeper is probably the most important card in your team. It also includes a big expense when you start the game. Indeed, goalkeepers are much fewer number cards (because of their unique post) and their small number in soccer teams.
As you can see, goalkeepers are very popular on Sorare, and by the law of supply and demand, their price can be considerable if they are a starter in every game and if they are performing well.
3/ Not taking your time
We advise you to start with the common or limited cards in order to discover the game little by little, to get used to it, and to understand the rules.
Mistakes cost you nothing with the common cards and much less with the limited cards. Starting directly with a Rare team can be a good point, however, because of their high price, you can quickly find yourself losing.
4/ Buy Bundles
We advise you to buy cards on the secondary market rather than buying packs at an auction. This is only for profitability reasons. Indeed the packs of new teams can sometimes be overvalued by simple enthusiasm to the release of a new team. Therefore, taking your time is again the key.
Generally, a few weeks after the release of the packs, the cards resold on the secondary market are resold cheaper because of the initial excitement.
However, this is by no means a piece of investment advice, it may be that some packs containing very good players (with a goalkeeper for example) are more profitable on the primary market and will allow you to make a profit if you decide to resell it a few weeks later on the secondary market.
5/ Prefer credit card purchases (via Ramp) to ETH wallet
Sorare recently implemented Ramp on its website to make it easier for users to fund their Sorare wallet using their own currency (over 40 currencies supported) and preferred payment option (open bank, bank transfer, credit card). With Ramp, it's easy to convert your preferred currency to Ethereum and Sorare covers the gas fees.
Depending on the buying strategy you adopt, you can save the ETH (gas fees) from your wallet to Sorare as well as the 10% bank card fee if you buy directly on the primary market. Put together, this can save you big unnecessary expenses in the long run.
